Midterm research presentation on Covid-19 held

Speakers at the Midterm Research presentation on COVID-19 and new normal situation in Bangladesh: Economical and Sociological perspectives in the International Seminar said that the researcher rightly observed that giving good value or return in relation to the money, time, or effort expended during the COVID-19 pandemic and aftermath.They also put emphasis that social aspects have rightly been addressed by the present government .They argued that the cast are economical with their actions by the government which is propeople welfare being.The Midterm Research presentation on Covid-19 and new normal situation in Bangladesh: Economical and Sociological perspectives were organized by the Entrepreneurial Economists club of the Dhaka School of Economics on 22 December,2021 where national and International experts joined.

The output of the research activities on the ongoing research entitled " COVID-19 and new normal situation in Bangladesh:Economical and Sociological perspectives" held on 22 December,2021 by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Abusayeed Khan ,Sociology Discipline,Khulna University (On leave) and doing Post Doctorate under UGC Post Doctoral fellowship In Dhaka School of Economics (DScE), Constituent Institution of the University of Dhaka.

In the programme Chief guest was  Dr.Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad,Chairman,PKSF and Chairman DScE.  Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad argued that there were a lot of positive impacts taken by the Government during the pandemic. He put emphasis on more people's awareness about health and taking psychological balances and govt. organizations and NGOs need to work life balances for the economical and social benefits.

Professor Dr Abdullah Abusayeed Khan observed that People are adjusting/ coping with new normal situation and the poor people can manage the relief easily, the rich people had enough to support themselves but the middle class people were the sufferer as they cannot go out for job and could not beg for reliefs because of self-respect.He found that  land laborers can continue their labor selling during the initial stage of lock down.  However,when the government. declared lock down in a strict method due to the rise of the pandemic then   labor owners became feared to employ  them.Patients said that they are serving patients by maintaining health safety measures/ cautious of CORONA i.e., wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing and so on. Patients  had to work by saving themselves by ensuring safety and the needs of the patients. Similarly Doctors /Nurses  performed surgical operations by wearing masks, dressing masks to patients and so on as found by the researcher. Business personnel said that besides the poor scale selling, during the days of the pandemic in their  business, they were  facing the challenge of recovery which they had  to give credit to customers as reported by the researcher .

Prof.Dr.Muhammad Mahboob Ali,Economist,Entreprenrurial Expert and IT expert presided over the programme.He praised that the reseach findings have shown a real picture and due to positive govt. intervention pro people activities were timely taken which plans and packages  needed to be properly executed.

 Department of Economics,Kristu Jayanti College,India,Dr.Yashoda Durge,Associate professor,GNVS Institute of Management,India and Professor Dr. Sujata Khandai, Amity University Uttar Pradesh,India were guests of honour. Sara Tasneem, Assistant Professor of DScE also addressed in the programme.
