Microbus lost control crashing in pond killimg 8

Eight people were killed when a microbus lost control and fell into a pond in Bashati area of Mymensingh's Phulpur upazila. Two people were rescued alive in the incident.

The accident took place around 7 am on Tuesday (August 18).

On the way from Bhaluka in Mymensingh to Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur, the microbus lost control at a place called Bashati in Phulpur and fell into a pond on the side of the road. Later the bodies of 8 people were recovered. Two others were rescued alive. There were a total of 14 passengers in the microbus. The fire service is working to rescue the others.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Phulpur Police Station Imarat Hossain said that the police and fire service personnel went to the spot and recovered the bodies of eight people. The identities of the dead are not yet known.
