Time befitting measures taken by the incumbent government to complete the metro rail project has led to the performance test of the country's first Metrorail (MRT-6) recently. It is undoubtedly a milestone for us. Metro rail is no longer a dream, it is a visible reality.

A metrorail with six bogies ran on Metrorail Viaduct (Metro Line) and later returned to the depot from Diabari depot via Pallabi in Mirpur. It will take 6 months to complete all the works of Metro Rail Line-6. Besides, five other metro rail trains will start operating by 2030. The progress work from Uttara to Mirpur is 88 percent.

Metro-rail service will play the most effective

role in reducing traffic congestion as

well as air-pollution in Dhaka

In order to serve commuters with a smooth and hassle-free journey and transform Dhaka into a more sustainable city, the government is working relentlessly to complete the construction of the metro-rail. We appreciate the efforts of the authorities concerned for connecting the entire Dhaka under metro-rail network.

The metro rail project is going to make revolutionary changes in the country’s communication sector. Needless to say, metro-rail service will play the most effective role in reducing traffic congestion as well as air-pollution in Dhaka. We hope the government will continue the momentum of its efforts to implement the project within the stipulated time. Last but not least, the fare of the metro rail should also be taken into consideration so that the common people can have easy access to it.
