Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday predicted rain or thundershowers with lighting flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind at some places of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am today (on Monday).
“Rain or thundershowers with lighting flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions,” said a met office bulletin issued on Sunday morning.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to continue hoisting local cautionary signal number four as the cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ lies over southeast Bay and adjoining southwest Bay.
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the bulletin added.
In the weather report, it also said that mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Madaripur, Gopalgonj,
Rangamati, Rajshahi, Pabna and Patuakhali and it may continue.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
