Mercantile Bank Limited, on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, organized a press conference at its head office in Dhaka on Sunday. Bank’s Chairman A.K.M. Shaheed Reza, as the chief guest, highlighted the Bank’s significant achievements over the last years and underscored the future action plans.
He also stated that a colorful event will be organized in city’s five star hotel on the occasion of Bank’s 20th Anniversary today (Monday).
Fazle Kabir, governor of Bangladesh Bank will attend the programme as the chief guest. Five eminent personalities and institutions of the country will be awarded ‘Mercantile Bank Sommanona-2019’ and five talented young bankers will be awarded ‘MBL Young Bankers Appreciation Award-2019’ at the ceremony.
The ‘Mercantile Bank Sommanona-2019’ awardees are for education Dr. Tofael Ahmed, Freedom Fighter & Research on Liberation War Captain Shahabuddin Ahmed, Bir Uttom, economics economic research Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute, Mymensingh, industry and commerce Abul Kashem (Abul Khair Group), sports Mosharraf Hossain Khan (swimming). Each of the awardees will be honored with Tk 3 lakh, gold medal and srest.
The ‘MBL Young Bankers Appreciation Award-2019’ awardees are Uzzwal Kumar Singha, AVP, IFIC Bank Ltd, Sirajul Islam, AVP, AB Bank Ltd, A.K.M. Hossainuzzaman, FAVP, Mercantile Bank Ltd, Tawhid Khan Majlish, FAVP, Mutual Trust Bank Ltd, Mohammad Arafat Hossain, FAVP, Bank Asia Limited. Each of the awardees will be honored with Tk 2 lakh, crest and certificate.
Bank’s Managing Director & CEO Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury presided over the press conference while Bank’s Vice Chairman A.S.M. Feroz Alam, Chairman of the Executive Committee Al-Haj Akram Hossain (Humayun), Chairman of Mercantile Bank Foundation M. Amanullah, Chairman of Mercantile Bank Securities Limited Mohd. Selim and Directors : Morshed Alam M.P., Md. Anwarul Haque and Al-Haj Mosharref Hossain, Additional Managing Director Mati Ul Hasan, Deputy Managing Directors Gaus-Ul-Wara Md. Mortaza, Md. Zakir Hossain and Adil Raihan were present.
