Laser Vision, an audio-video production organization, has organized a memorial event for renowned composer and music director late Basudeb Ghosh. The event will be held at 5 pm on January 6th at the Bishwo Shahitto Kendro auditorium in Banglamotor. On that day, the music director will be remembered and revered. Organizers have invited all music lovers to the event.
Basudeb Ghosh breathed his last at the Birdem Hospital in the capital on December 29th at 11:15 pm. He had been suffering from heart problems for a long time. Doctors have said he died of a heart attack. The next day he was cremated at his hometown Boalkhali’s Kanungo area in Chattogram. Music director Basudeb Ghosh created countless melodies including ‘Tomar Oi Monta Ke Ekta Dhulo Makha Poth Kore Dao’, ‘Tumi Hariye Jabar Shomoy’, ‘Ami Khuje BeraiAmar Maake’, among others.
He was well reputed as a music director, especially of Shashoto Dhara Bangla songs. He was working on an album with a thousand patriotic songs. It was named 'Shurjoloke Shanito Praner Gaan'. About 950 songs were done. Basudeb said he would soon submit the work and the relevant documents to the Guinness Book of World Records office. However he passed away before completing the project.
