‘Kingbadanti Abul Maal Abdul Muhith’

Memorial book unveiled on the former finance minister

The cover unveiling ceremony of the memorial book titled 'KingbadantiAbulMaal Abdul Muhith' was held on Friday at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) in the city.

JatiyaSangsad Speaker Dr. ShirinSharminChaudhury attended the book unveiling and commemoration ceremony as the chief guest while Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) Professor Dr Syed Modasser Ali, Former Chairman of the Privatization Commission Enam Ahmed Chowdhury and Media Personality ShykhSeraj attended the event as special guests.

Eminent Economist DrKaziKhalequzzaman presided over the function while noted entrepreneur and organizer AKM AbulFazal Bulbul moderated it.

Bangladesh Bichitra Editor Alauddin Al Azad delivered the welcome speech.

ShirinSharminChaudhury lauded for publishing the book and said the book will inspire the new generation to work for the country.

"AMA Muhith was a multi-dimensional character. Through the book, new generation will know the role of AMA Muhith in different fields, including politics, economy and diplomacy," she added.

In his speech, A K Abdul Momen, also younger brother of AMA Muhith, thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to give scope to AMA Muhith and said due to the scope, his brother was able to provide his talent in the development of the country.

MA Mannan said AMA Muhith was an enlightened man for his intellectual thinking and creative work. 

He thanked for publishing the memorial book and said it will be inspiration of new generation.

Shahab Uddin said AMA Muhith was the pioneer of the environmental movement.

He informed that as a pioneer in environment movement, Muhith was the founder president of Bangladesh PoribeshAndolon (BAPA).

He said the most attractive virtue of Muhith was that he was accessible to all.
