The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 in a drive in different areas of the capital city at Kamrangir Char and Mugdha arrested eight members of women traffickers on Sunday. Commanding officer of RAB-11 lieutenant colonel Imran Ullah Sarkar on Monday noon briefed the media at its head quarter at Adamjee area of Shiddirganj police station.
Arrestees were identified as Ridoy Ahmed alias Kuddus 35, of Noakhali district, Shilpi Akter 27, of chandpur district, Musa alias Jibon 28, of Patuakhali district, Rizvi Hossain 27, of Munshiganj district,Shipon 22, of Chattagram district, Shwapon 27, of Madaripur district, Mamun 24, of Chandpur district and Shahabuddin 7, of Lakkhipur district and owner of Dhanshiri travel agency.
RAB recovered 39 passports, 66 photocopies of passport,18 ticket of airlines, 36 photocopy of visa’s, 1 computer and 19 cell phones from the arrestees possessions. Additional police super of RAB-11 Mohammad Alepuddin said that the women trafficker gang collected 15 to 25 beautiful women and sent them to middle-east countries for performing different dance bar.
Arrested Shabuddin is the kingpin of this crime and he is an owner of travel agency. He engaged few brokers to collect women. Alepuddin added that six members of this gang were arrested in November 2019 from Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj.
