District Awami League distributed sweets to people in Meherpur-1 constituency as new council of ministers, including Professor Farhad Hossain took oath. After the oath taking ceremony on Thursday evening, sweets were distributed among the activists and supporters at the district Awami League head office in the city. At this time, party leaders watched the live broadcast of the swearing-in ceremony on television. District Awami League Joint General Secretary Advocate Ibrahim Shaheen, Municipal Awami League President Iqbal Hossain Bulbul, Barbazar Traders Association General Secretary, Aminul Islam Khokon and other ward leaders were present. A new cabinet of 36 members has been formed for the 12th National Parliament. Farhad Hossain got the responsibility of the Minister of Public Administration. Before this he was the State Minister of the same Ministry.
Professor Farhad Hossain was elected Member of Parliament after winning a large number of votes in Meherpur-1 (Sadar and Mujibnagar) constituencies. He participated in the 12th National Parliament election after receiving the party nomination of Awami League for the third time in a row.
