A sharing meeting was held in Jhenaidah under the project coordinated and participatory efforts to control sound pollution. Organized by EQMS and Atmospherical study centre and department of environment, the sharing was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner.
Presided over by assistant director of the department of environment Sreerup Mazuzmder, deputy commissioner (DC) Manira Begum attended as chief guest. Additional superintendent of police Abu Rasel, medical officer of the office of the civil surgeon Dr. Talat Tasnim, Jhenaidah district traffic in-charge Salah Uddin and district truck workers union general secretary Jahangir Alam Sagar attended as special guests.
EQMS project filed officer also Stamford University lecturer Abdullah Al Nayeem presented his key notes.
A number of school and college teachers, social workers, imams of mosque and leaders of temples and local elite participated in the sharing.
The speakers opined that awareness among the drivers of vehicles, concern others and common people should be strengt hen to control the sound pollution gradually.
