Meeting of cooperative society held

Discussion meeting of Male and Female CIG (Common Interest Group) Crop Cooperative Society Limited has been held under NATP Phase-II project.

The meeting was held at Baktarpur of Salimpur union in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna on Tuesday afternoon. Baktarpur Battala Men's and Madhyapara Women's CIG Cooperative Society organised the discussion meeting.

It may be mentioned that as part of the government's development assistance program for agricultural machinery, 14 power trolleys, threshing machines, battery-powered vans and other agricultural equipments were officially distributed to 9 male and female CIG (Common Interest Group) Cooperative Societies of the upazila on July 18.

This discussion meeting was held in the light of how the farmers can benefit by using these equipments properly.

Ishwardi Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdul Latif addressed the 

 discussion as the chief guest. Special guests were Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Mostafa Hasan Imam, Ishwardi correspondent of English national daily Bangladesh Post Jahangir Hossain, Upazila Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer Ekhlashur Rahman, Salimpur Union 9th Ward member Zillur Rahman and Purardair Women's CIG Cooperative Society President Shampa Khatun.

It was presided over by Purardair Battala Men's CIG Cooperative Society President Zillur Rahman. Agriculture Officer Latif Biswas, who was the chief guest at the meeting, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very farmer-friendly. If the equipments provided to you by the government for agriculture are used properly, then at some point each association will become an individual organisation. If there is ever a problem in the use of equipment, then it should be resolved through discussion.
