Medicine trader gets 6-month jail

A mobile court awarded six-month imprisonment to a medicine trader at Santhia upazila in Pabna for selling expired medicine and without license. The convict is Najmul Hossain of the upazila.

 Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Santhia SM Jamal Ahmed led the mobile court on Tuesday night.

According to locals and Santhia UNO office, the mobile court conducted a drive at Rabeya Pharmacy at Joragacha Bazar under Nandanpur union of the upazila.

At that time, for selling expired medicine and without license, the mobile court gave imprisonment to Najmul Hossain on Drug Act 1940 of 18 clause.

Drug Super of Pabna Mohsinil-al-Mahbub and member of police were also present at that time. UNO said this type of drive will be continued for public interest.
