There is an acute shortage of Paracetamol in the pharmacies of Patuakhali's Mirzaganj upazila. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours of Saturday in the upazila, 24 corona patients have been identified in 39 sample tests. There are 101 people undergoing treatment at home isolation. In addition, due to the change of seasons, there has been an outbreak of common cold fever. In such a situation, the patients are suffering due to not being able to buy medicine.
After searching several drug stores in the Upazila Sadar on Sunday morning revealed that the Paracetamol tablets as Napa, Napa-500, Napa Extend, Napa Rapid, Napa Syrup, Napa Drop and Square Group's H
Plus, H Syrup could not be found in large quantities.
Local drug dealers say that the demand for Paracetamol has increased due to the increase in the incidence of common cold and fever in the upazila due to the change of seasons including corona. At the same time, there has been a crisis in the market for such drugs as the supply from the company has stopped.
A patient Mitu Akhter said,” I have a cold-fever for several days, so I have come to buy Napa tablets. But I could not buy Napa tablets even after visiting a few shops.”
Complaining about this, another buyer Mumit Biswas said, "I could not buy Napa tablets even after searching in almost all the pharmacies in the Upazila Sadar." At present, the crisis of such drugs is making the common people suffer.
Monir Hossain, owner of a medicine house in front of the Upazila Parishad, said that suddenly the demand for fever medicine has increased almost three times more than usual. they have repeatedly demanded the companies but they are not supplying medicines. So there has been a crisis of such drugs. If there is no supply of Napa and Ace tablets and syrup at this time, the suffering will increase.
Jahangir Hossain, owner of Subidkhali Sadar Disease Free Pharmacy, said that due to the increase in the incidence of corona and common cold and fever, those who need one leaf of paracetamol medicine are now buying 10 leaves of medicine. This is also one of the main reasons for the crisis of this medicine. Those who don't need it are also buying medicine and leaving it at home. The Napa group has been in a drug crisis for about two months.
Sabbir Hossain, Medical Promotion Executive (MPE) of Beximco Pharmaceuticals, confirmed the truth, saying that the demand for Napath tablets has increased due to the increase in demand for Napath tablets at present. However, tablets are being provided in almost all the shops. Hopefully in a few days this crisis will not be in the market.
Dr Dilruba Yasmin Liza, Upazila Health Officer, said that corona infection is on the rise in the upazila. However, the hospital has adequate stocks of Paracetamol. This medicine is being given officially to the patients who are coming to the hospital.
