Md. Obaidul Haque has recently joined as Deputy Managing Director of Bank Asia Limited. Prior to joining Bank Asia Limited, Mr. Haque was the Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and Head of Khulna & Barishal Region of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL).
He started his career in 1984 as a Trainee Manager at Grameen Bank. Later on, he pursued banking career by joining IBBL as Senior Officer in 1985. During his 35 years of service at IBBL, he worked in numerous departments with versatile set of responsibilities specializing in rural development.
He pioneered the Rural Development Scheme in IBBL to meet up the investment needs of the rural population. Mr. Haque obtained his Bachelor’s & Master’s degrees in Economics from University of Rajshahi. He also undertook various bank related training at home and abroad.
