International May Day was celebrated in Meherpur with the theme "Workers-Owners will build the country and Bangladesh will be smart". On this occasion, a rally was brought out in front of the District Art Academy at around 10:30 am on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Meherpur Md Shamim Hasan led the rally.
The rally ended at the district commissioner's office of the city. Superintendent of Police SM Nazmul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Ahmed Rumon along with other government officials and representatives of various labor unions participated in the rally.
