The longest sea beach in the world Cox’s Bazar has been an attraction for the tourists. The government believes that this sea beach can be a big booming tourist zone where millions will flock each year if it can be developed properly following international standards. Recent reports published in this daily say that PM has directed the Cox’s Bazar Development Authority to frame a ‘master plan’ to turn Cox’s Bazar into a global tourist destination.

It is encouraging for the tourism and hospitality service providers in the country that such an ardent step towards the development of the main tourist attraction in the country is being taken by the PM. Moreover, results of the recently concluded ECNEC meeting on Tuesday say that a separate layout is to be prepared for the infrastructure and buildings in the Cox’s Bazar city can be constructed in a disciplined and planned manner. This will certainly bring forth a new horizon of development in the coastal areas which is sure to pique the interest of millions.

On another note, experts opine that further economic development can be achieved through the development of the beach itself. Such an initiative will bring forth massive amounts of foreign exchange in future from this one tourist zone only. This is sure to act for the development of the economy and bring the currency scale to a more balanced position for Bangladesh. Moreover, there are also plans to plant more trees along the coastal areas to keep the tourist zones safe from natural calamities.

The development initiative is quite praiseworthy and it needs to be implemented by an honest team of officials so that there is no wastage of funds. The sooner the project will be completed the better it will be for the local and foreign tourists.
