The kick off meeting of master plan preparation for Cox’s Bazar district project was held at Cox’s Bazaar Development Authority Multipurpose Hall at Cox’s Bazaar Development Authority Offices premises on Tuesday.
According to a press release, Chairman of CoxDA Commodore (Retd) Mohammad Nurul Absar chaired the event. The project is being conducted by Construction Supervision Consultant with Celltron-EK Architect JV as the local and SASAKI, an American firm, as the international partner.
Director (Contract and Planning) of Construction Supervision Consultant Brigadier General Abdullah Al Mamun, Project Director Tanveer Hasan Rezaul, Team Leader of Master plan Preparation for Cox’s Bazar District and Prinicipal Urban Designers Denis Piperz, Deputy Team Leaders Khandker Neaz Rahman Ehsan Khan, and Managing Director of Celltron EMS Limited Sheikh Mohammad Fauzul Mubin gave their valuable speeches in the event.
Sheikh Mohammad Fauzul Mubin delivered said, “The master plan will be conducted as per the 27-point vision for Cox’s Bazar declared by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her visit on 18th May 2021.”
As representatives of the JV, we will make sure that we will be bringing together the thoughts of the mass people into fruition and the aspirations of local inhabitants into the masterplan, he added.
Denis Piperz in his speech said, “SASAKI is one of the first inter-disciplinary firms to create a holistic approach to create a better world. With that vision, we are bringing our vast international experience to this project. We will build on the vision of the government and invest them in the existing communities to create a strong base for growth and evolution.”
Brigadier General Abdullah Al Mamun emphasized the importance of teamwork for the success of the project.
In his concluding remarks, Commodore ( Retd) Mohammad Nurul Absar thanked everyone involved in the project.
“Today signifies a historical moment for Cox’s Bazaar Development Authority and the people of Cox’s Bazaar. Today we kick off the next 50 years of Cox’s Bazaar which will ensure the sustainability and development of the area. This will be a roadmap that how we want to see Cox’s Bazaar in the future,” he added.
Project Director for CSC Lt Col Md Sadeque Mahmood, Lt. Colonel Tahsin Bin Alam, Project Director Celltron-EKArchitect JV Brig Gen Mamun Or Rashid (Retd.), Director of Celltron EMS Ltd, Colonel Shahid Mostafa (retd) and Urban Designer of SASAKI Alykhan Iqbal Mohamed, among others attended the event.
Land Use Planner Mohammad Hisham Uddin Chisty conducted the event.
It is to be mentioned that the international partner of the project SASAKI is a 65 years old US-based firm that has over 860 international projects under its name.
