A total of 24 nurses and midwives have been transferred from Noakhali 250-bed General Hospital recently.
According to sources many nurses and midwiferies of NGH were assigning their duties at the same station for more than one decade. Of them 24 were tranferred to other hospitals of the country through a letter signed by Helal Uddin, Superintendent of the hospital on Aug 26.
However, local people of the district expressed their satisfaction at the transfer of those staff of the hospital that have been staying at the same place for a long time.
According to the rules of the Department of Nurses and Midwiferies, the nurses, midwives and ward in charges of any hospital should be transferred after every two year for acquiring professional efficiency and experiences.
However, in NGH, the nurses, midwives and the ward in charges were staying at the same hospital for a long time.
As a result, a chaotic situation was created in health care systems of the hospital.
The transferred staff have been asked to join their new posts within seven days of the issuing the order.
