District information office, the government department under the ministry of information and technology has been playing role to conduct mass awareness against Covid 19 in Jhenidah. They have been moving even in remote villages to make the people aware against the deadly disease.
District information officer Abu Bakar Siddique when contacted said their cinemavan has been conducting publicity round the clock staying for a while at every place to make the awareness message understanding and meaningful. As their awareness activities, four billboards were set up at the district town and two in each six upazilas of the district against Corona Virus. Distribution of leaflets on the issue is a casual activity. They have been uploading awareness through social media at a regular basis.
About publicity strategy of the office they have been miking, exhibiting cinema, folklore songs, courtyard meeting, women’s gathering, discussion etc. on the policy and development activities of the government to make the people aware on socio-economy, environment, women and children rights and such others also.
Jhenidah Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saroj Kumar Nath when contacted about the mass awareness against Novel Corona Virus, said publicity by district information office has been playing significant role as most of the people of our country is not aware enough about the deadly disease like Corona Virus. The publicity will help enough against the disease as it was found first ever in the country, DC said.
