It has been an incredible journey and you have been nothing short of brilliant. You have always motivated and inspired us with your individual brilliance and guided us as a team, always leading from the front.
Thank you for always representing us and our flag with such humility, honour, and dedication. We know that even when you're not leading us from now, you will always be with us and looking after us. We wish you all the very best for always giving us your very best.”

“There is no replacement for Mashrafe bhai. He is part of the family and he was not only an elder brother to us but a big part of it. I will miss him as a captain. We had a big change since he took charge as captain not only on the field but off the field too. I will hope he will continue playing till he can. It is an experience in itself to play with him and under him. I hope he will be able to give more to Bangladesh cricket in future.”

It is tough to express [about] Mortaza bhaiin words. The cricketers, cricket board and the supporters should never forget his contribution to Bangladesh cricket. The way we are respected in ODIs around the world now, has been possible just because of him. It is impossible to forget what he has done for me and for us. I wish him luck and hope to see him more as a player.
Mahmudullah
“I have enjoyed a lot playing under him, not only because he has been a fantastic captain but also because he has been a friend and a brother. It has been six years since he took charge and has brought a lot of success for the team. I wish him luck for his future and there is no doubt that he is a legend of the game for Bangladesh.”

“I am sad since I heard about it [his decision to step down]. I do not have words to express. He was the one who got me into the team. It is a sad day for all of us.”
