Martyr Intellectuals Day was observed in Noakhali through various programs including wreath laying, discussion meeting, special prayers and prayers. A minute's silence will be observed in memory of the martyred intellectuals along with lighting of the lamp.
On the occasion of the day, wreaths were laid by the district administration, freedom fighters and various organizations at the Martyr Freedom Fighter Memorial on Wednesday morning. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman spoke as the chief guest in the discussion under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Israt Sadmin.
District Police Superintendent spoke as a special guest. Shahidul Islam, civil surgeon Dr. Masum Iftekhar, former District Commander of District Freedom Fighters Sangsad Mozammel Haque Milan, Chairman of District Council Abdul Wadud Pintu.
