All types of shops and shops in Pirojpur have been declared closed indefinitely from Tuesday due to non-compliance with hygiene rules.

District Corona Prevention Committee President Administrator Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain issued the directive. It is learned that the decision was taken in an emergency meeting on Monday night.

The order said, "All the markets in Pirojpur district will remain closed till further notice." Pharmacies and emergency services will not be covered by the directive. Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain said the order has been implemented since Tuesday morning.

He added that the shops and shopping malls have started opening from May 10, keeping Eid in mind, following hygiene rules and maintaining a safe physical distance.

But for the last few days, it has been noticed that buying and selling is going on among the buyers and sellers without following the hygiene rules. In this situation, the number of patients infected with corona infection is also increasing in Pirojpur. Therefore, shops have been declared closed indefinitely to prevent the spread of this infection.

Pirojpur conscious civil society relative coordinator Md Khalid Abu said that the administration has given permission to open shops from May 10. But local shoppers began to gather in front of the store before it opened.

There was a tendency to disregard hygiene even in buying and selling. For this reason, the administration again closed the shops. However, he requested the administration to be more strict to bring the situation under control.
