The monthly rent of Bangabandhu Super Market and Malitha Market in Ishwardi Bazar has been excused as the market is closed for the corona situation and government directives.

The market was reopened on May 10, after remaining closed for a month and half. The shopkeepers and traders of the market have been severely affected. In this situation, the shopkeepers applied to the owner of the market for excusing the rent.

Binoy Chakraborty, manager of Bangabandhu Super Market, said market owners Abdullah Al Anas Malitha and Salman Malitha announced a partial rent excuse for the month. The amount of excused rent is about Tk 3.5 lakh.

In this regard, owner Abdullah Al Anas Malitha, son of late Freedom Fighter Abdur Rahim Malitha, said, The coronavirus situation has led to stagnation in trade. The shopkeepers could not do any business for a month and a half.

Even then they paid regular salaries to the employees. Therefore, as a son of a freedom fighter and from a humanitarian point of view, all the shopkeepers of Bangabandhu Super Market have been given a partial excuse in rent.
