Bangladesh Maritime Law Society (BMLS) organised an International Seminar on “Complexity of Marine Insurance Claims and Understanding of Cover Provided by Insurers” at Hotel Agrabad in Chattogram on Monday afternoon.
West of England, MCO-Marine Claims Office and TISER sponsored the seminar. MCO team Services Limited was the technical partner of this seminar.
The objective of the seminar was to discuss various mediums to enhance the knowledge of marine industry stakeholders regarding marine insurance law with special focus on marine insurance claims and challenges under various marine insurance policies. The seminar brought together leading ship-owners, shipbuilders, shipping lines, ship agents, prominent marine insurers, academicians, maritime lawyers and experts from various fields for discussion.
Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Managing Director Commodore Md. Ziaul Haque inaugurated the seminar. He emphasized the importance of the seminar in creating awareness about the cover provided by marine insurance policies.
The special guest of the seminar, Md. Mehrul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of SR Shipping Limited, briefly highlighted various issues related to Marine Insurance.
