Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three as steep pressure gradient lies over North Bay under the influence of a low over northwest bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, reports BSS.

Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said a Met office press release on Tuesday.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, centre of the low to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over north bay. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna Barishal and Chattogram divisions, at a few places over Sylhet, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
