Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal number one as the deep depression over east-central Bay and adjoining area is likely to intensify further and move in a north-westerly direction, reports BSS.

The deep depression over east-central bay and adjoining area remained practically stationary over the same area and was centred at 12 noon on Wednesday about 1005 km south-southwest of Chattogram port, 930 km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 995 km south of Mongla Port and 950 km south of Payra port.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-westerly direction. Maximum sustained wind speed within 48 kms of the depression centre is about 50 kph rising to 60 kph in gusts/squalls. Sea will remain rough near the deep depression centre.
