Theatre troupe Manikganj Drama Circle celebrated its 2nd founding anniversary through organising a programme at Bijoymela Field in Manikganj city on Saturday.
The programme featured procession, theatre, discussion and cultural programme. Artistes of the organisation brought out a colourful procession at 5:30 pm from Shahid Minar. Following which, a discussion was held.
Thespian and freedom fighter Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Manikganj municipality mayor Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim, Manikganj Drama Circle president Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, its senior vice president Shahidul Haque Tapan and general secretary Saifur Rahman Shahid took part in the discussion.
A new committee of Manikganj Drama Circle was also elected on the occasion. Later on, the troupe staged the play ‘Ar Noy Bhul’.
The play, written and directed by senior vice-president of the Manikganj Drama Circle Shahidul Haque Tapan, revolves around issues like early marriage, eve teasing, terrorism, drugs and social degradation.
After staging the play, artistes entertained the audience by presenting recitations, songs and dance performances.
Singers Sabrina Momtaz Momo and Emon Khan rendered songs.
Tahiya Haq Pritha recited poems while Krishna Das and Masuma Akhter Babali performed dance recitals to the delight of the audience.
