Mangoes flood city markets

The best mango varieties have flooded the city markets and other parts of the country. Almost all the people of Bangladesh love mangoes for its taste and health value. 

Himsagar, Gopalbhog, Lengra, Amrupalai, Mohonbhog, Lokkhonbhog, Fojli, Haribhanga, Totapuri, Bari 4 and other varieties of mango have already started ripening. The sweet aroma of mango attracts everyone.

Most of the mangoes of the markets come from the northern part of the country. Chapai Nawabganj and other areas of Rajshahi division are well known for mangoes. However, good quality mangoes are also grown in Kushtia, Satkhira, Khulna, Magura and some hilly areas of Chattogram division.

A large number of mangoes come to the capital city despite the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Mango is called the 'king of fruits.' The fruit is not only delicious but also full of nutritional value. Mango increases immunity. It improves digestive health and body fitness.

Mango is low in calories yet high in nutrients — particularly vitamin C, which aids immunity, iron absorption and growth and repair.

A plenty of varieties of mango are available in the market. The fruit is sold Tk 60 to 100 per kg. The price depends on the quality of mango.

The sweet and lucrative fruit is loved by the people of home and abroad. A large number of mangoes are being exported in Europe and other countries every year.

The soil and weather of Bangladesh is very suitable for mango. The mangoes of the country are appreciated and valued worldwide due to the taste and quality.
