Naogaon's Manda Upazila Awami League general secretary and Upazila Parishad chairman SM Jasim Uddin died while undergoing treatment for corona symptoms. He died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital at 8 am on Monday.
Manda Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Muhammad Mashiur Rahman said, “He was brought to the Upazila Health Complex on Thursday due to fever, cold and shortness of breath. We suggested testing for coronavirus.
He did not give samples that day.” “When he became very ill, he was brought to the health complex again at around 7 am on Saturday.
At this time we collected samples from him with first aid. After that the condition became serious and he was sent to Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital in Corona Unit No. 30 with oxygen.”
He died Monday morning while undergoing treatment there. However, the corona report has not been received yet. Earlier on June 5, SM Samsuzzoha Montu, 33, the second son of freedom fighter SM Jasim Uddin, died of a heart attack.
