A Kishoreganj court on Sunday sentenced one to death in a rape and murder case at Nikli upazila in the district.
The convict is Shahin (35), son of Manik Uddin of village Bhati Bharatia under Nikli Upazila in Kishoreganj district. He was also fined Tk. 1 lakh.
Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Kiron Shanke Halder delivered the verdict.
As per the prosecution, the convicted person raped and murdered his sister-in-law Rukshana (15), daughter of Faizul Islam of Sheikh Nabinpur village on May 11, 2017.
The victim's father filed a case with Nickle Police Station.
The case was conducted by Special Public Prosecutor M.A Afzol, on behalf of the state and Advocate Muzzamal Hoque Khan Makhon for the defence.
