An auto-rickshaw driver on Saturday was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants at Moddho Rajashon area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.
Police later sent the body to capital’s Shahid Suhrawardi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy after recovering the body. Md. Mominul Islam, Inspector of Savar model police station confirmed the matter.
The deceased was identified as Sohel Hossain, 30, son of Moksedul Islam, hailed from Nilphamari district. He used to make living by pulling battery-run auto-rickshaw living Savar’s Rajashon area along with his family, police said.
Moksedul Islam, deceased’s father said, Sohel went out with his auto-rickshaw following a phone calls on afternoon. At stage locals found him unconscious in bloody condition at his own rickshaw. Later duty doctor of Enam medical college hospital declared him dead after taken him there. “We don’t have any idea that who killed my son, as he had no enmity with anybody as far as we know”, he added.
Shohidul Islam, sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station, said they working to identify and nab the involved, as well as preparation to file a case in this regard was underway.
