Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court and Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Jamal Ahmed sentenced father-in-law and son-in-law to 14 days jail on charge of child marriage at Santhia upazila in Pabna on Monday.
It is learnt, the wedding function of ninth grader student of Idrakpur Dakhil Madrasa, and daughter of Abu Bakkar Sheikh Bina Khatun from Bera upazila and son of Tofajjol Hossain Mohon from Tarapur village of Bera upazila was going on.
Last Monday, on information Upazila Nirbahi Officer SM Jamal Ahmed conducted a drive at the marriage house. At that time, though other managed to flee but bridegroom Mohon (19) and father-in-law Abu Bakkar Sheikh (50) was detained by mobile court.
Later, Executive Magistrate of Mobile Court sentenced them to 14 days jail.
