Azim Uddin(48), of Dhurail Chhotobeel area under Mohanpur upazila was killed when he was stabbed with a sharp weapon by his wife and son during taking possession of a Betel-leaf farm (Boroj) following an altercation between them on Monday morning. Neighbour Abdus Satter(46) was also injured when he rushed to save Azim Uddin from the wrath of son and the wife.
Police and local people informed, after getting the second marriage, Azim Uddin first wife Baby and her two sons Rakibul Islam(24) and Hasibul Islam (20) lived separately and Aziz Uddin used to live with his second wife Bilkis Begum separately. Bilkis Begum is now five month's pregnant.
It is learnt, this morning two sons of Azim Uddin and his first wife Baby took possession of the Betel-leaf Baroj of Azim Uddin and started to take care of the betel-leaf plants. Being informed, Azim Uddin rushed the farm and locked into an altercation and quarelling with his first wife and two sons. At a stage of the altercation, Hasibul hit his father with a sharp weapon killing him on the spot. Neighbour Abdur Sattar rushed to save Azizm Uddin and he also received an injury and was admitted to the hospital. Azim Uddin's first wife and two sons escaped following the murder.
Officer-in charge of Mohanpur Police station and Superintendent of Police of Rajshahi visited the spot and recovered the dead body of Azim Uddin and sent it to the morgue of RMCH for autopsy.
