A man was killed as a three-wheeler auto-rickshaw collided head on with a passenger bus on Panchagarh-Tetulia highway in Shalbahan Boalmari area under Tetulia Upazila of Panchagarh on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Atikullah Babu, 26, son of Moslim Uddin, resident of Sardar Para area under Boda Upazila of the district.
Police and local sources said Atikullah Babu was the driver of the three-wheeler vehicle who was heading to Tetulia to deliver the bakery goods. The auto-rickshaw collided head on with a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction in Boalmaria area of the district, leaving Atikullah critically injured. He was rushed to Tetulia Upazila Health Complex where the on duty doctor declared him dead.
Sub-Inspector of Tetulia Highway Police Station Shamsul Haque confirmed the matter of the death of the three wheeler driver and said the family of the deceased was informed. Measures will be taken following the legal procedures when they come.
