An unidentified man was killed by a speedy covered van while crossing the road in city’s West Kalshi area of Pallabi on Saturday morning, reports BSS.
DMP Pallabi Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident.According to police sources and locals, the accident occurred at around 9am in the morning while the speedy covered van hit and ran away, leaving him severely injured.
The locals rushed him to a local medical college hospital. Later, he was sent to Dhaka Medical College and hospital (DMCH) for better treatment. The duty doctors pronounced him dead at around 11am.
The SI added that the covered van have been seized though the driver managed to escape. He also said that the body has been kept to the DMCH morgue for autopsy. The process of filling a case is underway.
