A man was hacked to death by his only son at Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Saiful Islam 40, resident of Rupganj village of Barobari union of Baliadangi upazila. The accused Rusel Rana 22, the only son of the victim, has been absconding since the incident.
Wife of the deceased Saiful Islam said her son has been suffering from mental problems for a long time. However, she did not think he would brutally kill his father with a spade in a moment of rage.
Baliadangi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Hasibul Islam said police are investigating the incident and after the investigation they will be able identify the reasons behind the killing.
