A man named Mohammad Tushar Khan was arrested with drug consuming equipment and was sentenced to six months imprisonment during an anti-drug drive on the east side of Char Thakurbari Mosque in Poddar of Gobra Union in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila on Sunday.
The operation was led by Gopalganj Executive Magistrate Farzana Bobby Mitu under the overall supervision of Narcotics Control Department Assistant Director Chowdhury Imrul Hasan.
Police members, inspectors of the Narcotics Control Department, sub-inspectors and other members took part in the operation. Later, Executive Magistrate Farzana Bobby Mitu sentenced the accused to six months in jail for storing yaba, cannabis and equipment for consumption.
Imrul Kayes Chowdhury, assistant director of the Narcotics Control Department, told the media that the anti-drug drive would continue in future as well.
