Man held with huge contraband drugs

The rapid action battalion (RAB) personnel in Jhenidah have seized huge quantity of government drugs and contra banned medicine form a house at Chaklapara in the town on Sunday afternoon. 

The elite force had arrested the house owner Dipak Kumar Biswas when he was proved storing the drugs violating the government rules. THe price of the seized drugs was primarily estimated for an amount of Taka 30 lakh.

RAB 6 company commander additional superintendent of police Masud Alam said they were informed that some Dipak Kumar Biswas, son of Dilip Kumar Biswas was storing huge quantity of government supply drugs and contra banned medicines at his home at Chaklapara. 

Acting on the tip off, the elite force in present of the assistant director of national consumer rights department Suchandan Mandal conducted the drive in the house on Sunday afternoon.

The law enforcers seized 14 cartons of medicine containing government supply drugs meant for free distribution among the patients of hospitals free of cost. The cartons also containing contra banned drugs. They arrested house owner Dipak Kumar Biswas. Price of the seized drugs was primarily estimated for Taka 30 lakh, RAB 6 company commander said.

Masud Alam informed the media activists that arrested Dipak Kumar Biswas had made confessional statement that the said drugs were brought from the medicine market at Mitford in Dhaka for selling the same among some of the drug stores and quack physicians in and around Jhenidah at a lower rate.
