Boarder Guard Bangladesh in a drive arrested a man with 8 gold bars from Taluigacha frontier area in Sadar upazila in Satkhira on Sunday morning.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammod Al Mahmud of BGB-33 said in a press briefing this afternoon.
The detainee was identified as Billal Hossain, hailed from Taluigacha village in the upazila.
Mohammod Al Mahmud said on information they conducted a raid in the frontier area at around 10:30 am and held him with the gold bars cost Tk 58 lakh. A case will be filed with Satkhira Sadar Thana, he added.
