The detective branch (DB) police in Jhenaidah arrested trader with huge quantity of fake soft drinks from bordering Moheshpur upazila. The drive was conducted on Monday early morning from Alampur Kulbagan area of the upazila.
The arrested was Babul Hossain, son of Manir Hossain of the village.
Superintendent of police (SP) Mohammad Hasanuzzaman disclosed it to the media activists at his conference room on Monday noon.
DB police officer in charge (OC) Anwar Hossain said they were informed that some Babul Hossain was allegedly producing fake soft drinks of a number of brand companies and marketing the same at local markets.
The DB men led by inspector Pear Uddin conducted drives and swooped on the so called factory at the village. Sub inspectors Mahfuzur Rahman, Yunus Ali Gazi and Mahfuz Hossain associated Pear Uddin.
The law enforcers se2ized 25 sacks of fake soft drinks ad nabbed the owner of the factory baul Hossai0n in this connection.
A case was filed with Moheshpur police station and the arrested was handed over to the police station, Anwar Hossain said.
