Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested a yaba dealer named Mohammad Rafiq Ahmed, 52, with 30,000 pieces of yaba from Nimtala Bishwa Road area under Bandar Police Station in Chattogram on Tuesday.
A pickup used to transport yaba was also seized along with detained drug dealer said RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) Md Mahmudul Hasan Mamun.
Detainee Md. Rafiq Ahmed is the son of Md. Fazal Ahmed of Godarbil area of Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar.
RAB-7 Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Mashkur Rahman said Rafiq Ahmed was driving his own pickup from Teknaf to Dhaka carrying those yaba pills.
He said, based on secret information he was arrested from Nimtala Bishwa road area and the consignment of 30,000 pieces of yaba hidden in the pickup was recovered.
