Man held with 11,200 Tapentadol pills in Rajshahi

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police arrested a man in possession of 11,200 pieces of Tapentadol pills near the Padma river embankment of Bosri area under Kasiadanga Police Station on Saturday.

The detainees was identified as Rubel Hossain, 30, son of Abdul Aziz from Majardiar village under Paba upazila.

RMP spokesperson Golam Ruhul Quddus briefed the media on Sunday.

Rubel was carrying the Tapentadol pills to frontier village Char Majardiar to smuggle those to India. 

Tapentadol looks like Yaba is a pain killer and is now being used as a drug.  

The seized pills are worth Tk 21 lakh and legal action was taken in this connection, he added. 

The government banned Tapentadol pills on June 9 this year listing it as a 'B' class drug.
