Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a drug dealer named Alauddin, 27, along with 1 lakh 30 thousand of Yaba pills at Anwara in Chattogram.
Alauddin is the son of the late Mozahar Miah of West Raipur. He was arrested from Gahira Dobhashi Bazar at about 9:00 pm on Monday. The estimated value of the recovered yaba is Tk 6.50 crore, RAB said.
RAB Assistant Superintendent of Police (Media) Md. Nurul Abshar said that a large consignment of yaba was being unloaded from Myanmar at Dhobashir Ghat. Alauddin was arrested while fleeing from a shop in the area. Later, 1 lakh 30 thousand yaba was recovered from the ground inside the shop.
During the preliminary interrogation, Alauddin said that he had been bringing large consignments of yaba to Bangladesh by sea from Myanmar for a long time. Later it was sold to drug dealers in different parts of the country.
