Police have arrested a man for killing his mother at Ashulia Thana under Savar upazila.
Ashulia Police Station confirmed the incident through a press release issued on Tuesday.
The accused was Awlad Hossain, 28, a drug addict who allegedly killed his mother for money to buy drugs.
With the help of IT, Ashulia Police Station located his location, launched an operation at Kaliakair upazila Gazipur district and apprehended the accused.
It is noted that Awlad attacked his mother, Sufia Khatun, with a sharp arm inside the residence on March 26, 2025 and fled away.
Later, locals rushed her to Dhamrai Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
The accused has been hidden since then and police have been trying to catch him.
