A Manikganj court on Sunday sentenced one person to life term conviction for killing his wife in Manikganj in 2003.
The convict person was identified as Masum of village Shibrampur under Shibalaya Upazila of Manikganj district.District and Sessions Judge of Maniganj Sabina Yasmin pronounced the verdict today in presence of the convict in a crowded court room. The court also fined him Tk 20,000, in default, he would have to suffer more six month of jail.
According to the prosecution story, the accused killed his wife Nargis by triangulating her at his residence following a family feud on April 9, in 2003 and went into hiding.
On information, Shibalaya Police recovered the body of the victim and sent it to the morgue of Maniganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Police also filed a murder case against Masum with Shibalay Police Station in this connection.
After investigation, Investigation Officer (IO) submitted a charge sheet against the accused.
After examining the documents and witnesses, the Judge pronounced the verdict today.
