A man was killed and four others were injured when a train hit a battery-run auto rickshaw in Moilakanda rail crossing area in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 40, son of Suruj Ali, a resident of Kunuria village of the upazila.
The accident occurred in the area at around 12.45 pm when a Dhaka-bound train from Jaria hit the auto-rickshaw, leaving its five passengers injured, said Mamun Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Government Railway Police in Mymensingh.
The injured were sent to a local hospital where Rafiqul succumbed to his injuries.
Two of the injured were shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).
