A man gave a confessional statement to the court over killing his wife and concealed a sliced body in the last ten months in a pond and in the sand.
The statement was recorded by Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Nur Mohshin on Thursday (February 24).
After ten months of founding a departed head of a female Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested a man named Russel (30), son of Habibur Rahman, resident of Kumarganj village under Mithapukur police station in Rangpur district.
On May 25, 2021 Fatulla thana police recovered a departed head of a female aged around 25 in Baroibhog area under Fatulla police station and the details identity of the victim was unknown then.
Sub- Inspector Ashik Imran had filed a murder case against unknown accused in Fatulla police station.
The murder case shift to PBI and began investigation and on February 24 ten pieces bones, a refrigerator, a Kitchen knife (boti) were recovered.
In a media brief on February 24, police super of PBI Monirul Islam said, “The bones and previous recovered head are Russel’s wife Tanjina’s. Police arrested Russel on February 22 from Rangpur district and based on his statement the bones and others recovered from Adarsha Nogor area under Fatulla thana.
The deceased was Tanjina (25), daughter of Abdul Jalil, resident of Chitoli village under Mithapukur police station in Rangpur distict.
Police said, “Russel and Tanjina lived in a house of Noab Mia at Adorsho Nogor and worked in readymade garments factories.” PBI SP claimed that the accused Russel admitted the killed of his wife on suspicion of extra marital affair.
