A youth committed suicide by jumping under a moving train at Pirganj upazila in Thakurgaon. The incident took place in Senua Hath area of the upazilla around 11:00am on Friday (February 12).
The deceased was identified as Shobuj, 20, son of Kashir Uddin of Kusharigaon village under Bhomradah union of the upazila. He used to trade cattle with his father.
Panchagarh-bound Panchagarh Express train left Dhaka around 11:00 am and reached a place called Senuahat, 5 km north of Pirganj railway station. Shobuj, standing next to the railway line, jumped under the moving train and died on the spot.
