Man beaten to death in Savar, 3 held

A man was beaten to death by some miscreants over previous enmity in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Sunday night. Police arrested three youths in this connection.

The deceased was identified as Mafu, 32. He used to live at Shahibag area of Savar.

On the other hand, the arrestees were identified as Babu, 25, Delowar, 45 and Tipu, 48.

Saiful Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Savar model police station said to  The Bangladesh Post, “The incident took place around 7:30 pm at Andha Shangstha Kallyan Market of Savar on Sunday night. Some miscreants along with the arrestees beat the victim to death publicly because of previous enmity. It is a pre-planned murder. The involved tried to establish the murder as mob beating. However, already we have been able to arrest three youths, who were involved in the incident. The arrestees were produced before a Dhaka court on Monday morning.”

He further said, “A case was filed with Savar Model Police Station in this regard and the body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Madical Collage Hospital morgue for autopsy.
