Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Johirul Islam alias Rubel shooting students and people with firearms in two hands during the mass upsurge in Rajshahi conducting an overnight drive at Cumilla's Daudkandi.
"The elite anti-crime force conducted a drive in Daudkandi Upazila area of Cumilla district and arrested Rubel who shot students and people carrying two firearms in hands during movement at Boalia City in Rajshahi on August 5," an official said. Rubel, a Jubo League leader, accused of shooting at students during the quota reform movement and subsequent anti-government protests, was arrested from Cumilla's Daudkandi early Saturday.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous said that Rubel fired at students and people with pistols.
